Akke's mission is:
​
To make yoga accessible to students of any age, physical ability or medical history. 

To support students to
  • move better
  • relieve muscle aches and pains
  • feel more centered.

Akke is a Yoga teacher, Structural Yoga Therapist and Massage Therapist.

Local teaching experiences include teaching for the YMCA, The Weight Club, Optimal Health Associates as well as in the public schools in Montgomery County at Elementary and High School levels since 1988 and at Akke's Yoga Place since 2000. 

Teaching students ranging from teens to seniors has given her a deep understanding of movement potential.

Akke is registered with the Yoga Alliance as an Experienced Registered Yoga Teacher with over 500 hours of training (E-RYT-500) and registered as an Accessible Yoga Ambassador.
